Object in the Mirror

Objects in mirror are closer than they appear
And yet they seem so far away
Close enough to touch
But still four quarters
And a long car ride away
So I just sit and watch
And wonder what must be going on
Inside that pretty head
Behind those dark eyes and that beautiful smile
I wonder if she sees me looking
Or if she even cares that I am
Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear
If only that were true
I guess it depends on the object
When it's the object of one's desire
It's never close enough
