Twinkles

Twinkles

in the simple little flittings
that linger in the eve
when the night is just sighing
her greetings to the trees
in those little tiny touchings
when the wind begins to kiss
the sky is just paintbrush
waiting for all this

in the moments of tomorrow
when the day has gone to bed
and the dreams of what is to be
is dancing through your head
it's just a little drumming
a little tapping in your head
as you gaze up to the heavens
and the stars peek from their beds

a little bit of night light
mixes with the day's final good bye
a tiny drop of hello
sent from Helio's flaming ride
a promise yet to be given
a gift that's gently arrived
the night dance is beginning
as the sky closes her eyes

Life isn't measured by the number of breaths you take, but rather by that which takes your breath away
